What is General Surgery?
General surgery is a branch of medical surgery that involves surgical intervention on abdominal regions that includes the stomach, esophagus, small & large intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile ducts, appendix, and sometimes the thyroid gland. The doctors who are qualified and trained to perform such surgeries are called general surgeons. General Surgeons treat diseases associated with the abdomen, breast, head & neck, blood vessels, and also digestive tract. They also take care of and manage injured or patients who have deformities or issues that demand surgery.
